Penny is always all smiles in the morning...
My favorite thing about Penny is when she smiles. I love that now her smiles are directed at something/someone and not just random.

What Has Penny Been Up To?
You might ask, what is little Miss Penny up to these days? What does she spend her time doing? Well, here is the routine of a 2 1/2 month old young lady.
Every morning I wake up to this sweet face. She is always in a good mood in the morning (which makes it easier to get up). She usually makes lots of noise, but not really crying when she wakes up. She sleeps in a Swaddle Me, so she looks like a burrito, but it works. She makes jerky motions in the night that wake her up, so this thing confines her so she doesn't wake herself up.
After she wakes up, has a diaper change, and eats, she is still wide awake and in a good mood. So we play a little bit; she likes looking at the colorful playmat I have up in my room. We have some tummy time so she can get her neck and arms strong.
Then she relaxes while I get dressed for the day.
Then we get Penny dressed.
Downstairs she likes to hang out in her bouncer seat.
She is usually a good sport if we have to go run errands. The car ride usually puts her to sleep. She is also starting to be entertained by hanging colorful toys in front of her, so I've got one of those on her car seat. I have become a master of reaching to the back seat, feeling around the car seat, finding the pacifer, and then finding her mouth to put it in...while keeping my eyes on the road. This is one of my few mothering talents.
Penny recently added the Bumbo chair into her daily activities. She looks so big and cute sitting up in it. It is so nice to have something that helps her to sit up, since she can't yet sit up on her own.
She also has an activity mat that entertains her whether she's on her stomach or back. She has started to be happy playing on her back for up to 15 minutes or so. But she only tolerates being on her belly for a few minutes.
And of course we have lots of naps throughout the day. Usually she cat naps throughout the day instead of taking a couple long naps. I wont complain too much about her napping schedule (or lack therof) during the day, since she sleeps so well at night.
In the evening Chance comes home and gets some Penny time.
Here she is after a bath. She seems to like baths most of the time. I think sometimes I don't keep her warm enough and she doesn't like that.
Since Penny has been sleeping so well during the night, I decided she could start sleeping in her own room, instead of in the bassinet in my room. So here she is trying out her crib. I got a moniter the other day so I can listen for her at night. She eats for the last time around 9pm and is asleep for the night around 10pm. And she usually sleeps until around 9am. Sometimes she awakes up around 6am, so I feed her and she falls back asleep.

On the 4th of July Chance had to work. So Penny and I met up with my family and we all went up to my Aunt Robin's house to go boating. I was worried about having Penny out in the heat, but we found a shady spot on the shore that stayed plenty cool. It was such a nice day.
Since we were going boating, Penny decided to wear her boating outfit!
